hey everyone i am thinking about the Keweenaw peninsula as an idea for my paper i really want to know more about the Quincy Mine in Hancock Michigan or other mines near there. as of right now i have exploring the library website and found some interesting facts about the peninsula and how it was the worlds leading area for copper hense the name for the area Copper Country. I am fascinated with the area and how it was a booming area for example Calumet was once considered for the state Capital of Michigan which would be weird cause then the Capital would be almost as far north in Michigan you could get. i hope to find some more info. in the library and that everyone has a great weekend.
I hope all is well

About Me
Hi, this is my first time doing a blog so here it goes. My name is James La Fave or you can call me Jim. I am a History major wanting to go into secondary education and I also want to minor in French. i am currently at sophomore standings. I also live in the older part of campus in West Circle. I also have Transferred to Michigan State University last semester From Northern Michigan University and i love it here. Go Green!!!
For the research Paper i want to look in to the communities in the Western Upper Peninsula of Michigan in what is known as Copper Country. As of right now that is what i think would be great for me and i also have a brother who is in charge of a small town up there that could also help with my paper as well. I would also say that the type of history that i am most interested in would be Western Civilization mostly European History.
